James Higdon is a Principal at MML&K Government Solutions and is a registered lobbyist for clients in the policy areas of pharmaceuticals, travel & tourism, information technology and local government. In addition to managing the government affairs agendas for several clients, he is a member of the firm’s communications team, which regularly generates the original written content and analyses that keeps our clients ahead of the news cycle and always in the know. James also coordinates the ample legislative and administrative regulation tracking carried out by the firm.
James, an Owensboro native, graduated with distinction from the University of Louisville’s Professional MBA program and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Louisville with a B.A. in Political Science. While in the MBA program, James participated in a voluntary “global learning” coursework, which sent him to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Bangkok, Thailand to observe emerging economies. Preceding his tenure with MML&K, he spent two legislative sessions as an intern at the Frankfort Capitol – one in the state House of Representatives and the other in the Senate President Pro-Tem’s Office.
James’ volunteer work includes pro bono lobbying on behalf of Visually Impaired Preschool Services and coordinating the “Welcome Home” parade procession honoring the Kentucky veterans of the Korean and Vietnam Wars during the Bevin-Hampton Inaugural.
